Esther

When Elizabeth met Esther, she came across as a very shy girl. Esther would neither express herself nor approach anyone for a conversation on anything.

She used to live with her aggressive and assertive aunt who had a business in brewing of a local lethal brew known as "chang'aa". Her aunt had little time for Esther and when she was available, the little girl bore the wrath of her guardian.

Due to lack of parental guidance and nurturing - potty training was a concept which Esther never got a chance to understand and as a result it got her in trouble repeatedly with her aunt.

Two days under the roof of Musa House, with patience guidance and understanding, Esther became fully Potty trained. A remarkable achievement and memorable achievement that left Elizabeth in awe at the determination that this little girl had in her.

Under the care of her aunt, Esther would never have seen the inside of a classroom, even though she had attained the school going age. In her first few months in school, the little girl struggled to catch up with other consistent pupils. She is diligent and systematic in her approach to school work, which is outstanding for someone of her age and her school work speaks miles about her determination and character.

At the age of 6, Esther's eyes are more aware of what is going on around her and Elizabeth is quoted saying,

"Education, Family and a Peaceful place to call Home are the best gifts Esther has received from Musa House."

Elizabeth has more than once found herself cornered by Esther's reasoning and her witty jokes. Needless to say, Elizabeth could not be more proud of the strides made in gaining back self esteem and confidence, which Esther has made. Elizabeth continually provides the children with good parental guidance, a listening ear and she trusts the children.
